December 5, 2018 – A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Delta IV Heavy rocket carrying a payload for the Nationwide Reconnaissance Workplace (NRO) will lift-off from Area Launch Advanced-6 on December 7 at eight:19 p.m. PT. Designated NROL-71, the mission is in assist of our nation’s nationwide protection missions.
The Delta IV Heavy is the nation’s confirmed heavy lifter, delivering high-priority missions for the Nationwide Reconnaissance Workplace, U.S. Air Pressure and NASA. With a complicated higher stage, the Delta IV Heavy can ship over 14,000 kilos on to geosynchronous orbit, in addition to all kinds of complicated interplanetary trajectories.
